Tiles by their very nature add ambience to any environment that they have been laid in. However, they become very slippery when not maintained correctly, to keep them looking their best a cleaning programme needs to be maintained.

As you can see from the image cleaning usually involves a mop to spread around a commercial cleaning detergent and then the mop is used again to lift off the residue left behind. All that is achieved here is the dirty water is left behind and after the surface dries it barely gives the impression that the floor has been cleaned at all as evidenced by the dirt that is clearly seen left in the mop.

The cleaning of tile surfaces is more involved that just this method. To keep floors looking their best and hygienically clean, a deep clean with the correct product is the best starting point. Once the chemical used has dislodged the material and contaminants on top of the surface, a wet Vac is used to suck up all the dirty water that the cleaning chemical has removed.

Often this process will have to be repeated to get the desired clean surface if the surface is very heavily soiled. The tiles should then be sealed to ensure that any future spillage or soiling will not penetrate the tiles surface, this in turn will make future cleaning so much easier and will prolong the aesthetics of the tiles.
